The Right To Prepare Act, Local Ordinance
Monday, March 31
6:00 PM
At the County Services Committee Meeting in Fayetteville or online via live stream
JP Rivera Lopez is sponsoring The Right to Prepare Act, an ordinance that would require Washington County to send emergency alerts in languages spoken by more than 10,000 residents. This common-sense policy will help ensure that all community members—regardless of the language they speak—receive life-saving information in times of crisis.
The ordinance is on the agenda for the County Services Committee meeting (Monday, March 31, 2025, at 6:00 PM, 280 N. College Avenue). Your support can make a difference! Please attend the meeting or contact your Justices of the Peace to voice your support for this important step toward making Washington County safer for everyone. #RightToPrepare #InclusiveSafety #SupportJPLopez
This an in-person meeting only and will be livestreamed here.
What else is on the Agenda? Check it out here or read Beth Coger's newsletter for much more information, including the story of the Planning Board meeting last Thursday.

Musk or US: Empty Chair Town Hall
Saturday, March 22
1:00 PM
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fayetteville
Congress isn't listening, and it’s time to make them feel the pressure. We’re showing up to demand they:
Vote NO on any budget that hands power to Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Fight back against the Trump-Musk coup and extremist budget cuts. Hold public town halls—because they work for US, not billionaires.
Dress in red & white (if you wish to) for the Where’s Womack? theme.
Freedom Spring Party
Friday, March 21
4:30 PM
Washington County Courthouse, Fayetteville
While residents of Gaza were asleep last night, heavy airstrikes targeted homes, schools, tents, and shelters throughout the region, murdering over 400 Gazans and injuring hundreds more. The ongoing genocide in Gaza has escalated to a severe level, with previous ceasefire agreements being disregarded by Trump & Netanyahu. The situation has seen renewed bombings after more than two weeks of total siege on the population.
It is crucial for us to come together in solidarity for Palestine and against this genocide. We need to organize, expand our efforts, and actively participate in demanding an arms embargo.
We ask you to join us for an emergency mobilization to address this emergency on Friday, the 21st, from 4:30 to 5:30 P.M. at the Washington County Courthouse.
Freedom Spring Party
Wednesday, March 19
8:30 PM
Maxine’s Tap Room
We’re done watching billionaires wreck the planet, fire our people, and silence anyone who speaks up. They want us to feel small, alone, and hopeless. But we’ve got each other—and that’s how we win.
On March 19th, we’re throwing down. Across the country, folks are hosting Freedom Spring Parties—a night to shake off the doom, build real community, and get plugged into the fight ahead. Because if we’re gonna take on the powerful, we might as well do it with joy (and maybe a drink in hand from @maxinestaproom ).
RSVP is REQUIRED. Organized by Zero Hour Arkansas.
