Helps people out of poverty by building social capital & breaking down systemic barriers, with an emphasis on education & community.

Promotes informed civic participation, voter rights, and policy education in a nonpartisan way.

  • Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. We pass stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families. We also work in our own communities and with business leaders to encourage a culture of responsible gun ownership. We know that gun violence is preventable, and we’re committed to doing what it takes to keep families safe.

NAACP NWA Branch

Ensuring that black lives are a priority in all spaces.

  • The NAACP was founded February 12, 1909 and is the oldest, largest and most widely recognized grassroots-based civil rights organization.The Northwest Arkansas Branch of the NAACP was chartered through the efforts of Dr. John L Colbert. Through his vision and activism, the NWA Branch #60 AC of the NAACP charter with a record 132 members on October 19, 2013. Dedicated to improving the political, educational, social, and economic status of minorities and eliminating racial prejudice, the Branch’s members generously donate their time towards these efforts.

    The inaugural charter luncheon was held on February 9, 2014 at the Metroplex Event Center in Rogers. The Branch was pleased to have in attendance, NAACP Arkansas State President, Mr. Dale Charles; Keynote Speaker, Hilary O. Shelton who served as the Vice President for Advocacy/Director to the NAACP’s Washington Bureau was the Keynote Speaker; and local area officials.

    The Branch’s focus is “Onward and Upward” in pursuit of achieving social justice in Northwest Arkansas.

A local activist group opposing Project 2025 and defending democracy through education and peaceful action.

  • Not On Our Watch NWA is an activist community focused on fighting the implementation of Project 2025. We have 70+ members and meet monthly to share ideas, plan local peaceful actions, and support one another. 

    Our local group connects like-minded people in our community who want to work with others who share their values to protect democracy on the local, state and national levels. Top of mind is Project 2025, which will remain a threat to our freedoms no matter who wins the presidential election this year.

This campus-based group advocates for LGBTQ+ equality and fosters a safe, informed, and supportive student environment, empowering youth through education and visibility.

Our Samaritan Shop thrift stores in Rogers and Springdale play a vital role, providing essential financial support to help us continue offering hope and assistance to those in need.

    SCC services include the Samaritan Cafe, Market, Farm, and Shops, SnackPacks and BackPacks for kids, counseling, a dental program, and more.

Second Helping NWA

Combines food access with deeper conversations about inequality and community issues.

  • It was a desire to feed people coupled with a desire to fill a need that birthed Secondhand Smoke and Second Helping NWA. Secondhand Smoke is where food intersects with community-it is the foundation. Our foundation is rooted in connecting not just to, but within the community to feed people. It started out of a desire to provide food to anyone for any occasion.
    The opportunities to provide food through Secondhand Smoke quickly became opportunities to engage in conversations about community and the underlying obstacles that plagued community residents. Woven within these conversations was a need that revealed itself-this need centered around food insecurity.

Zero Hour Arkansas

A youth-led climate justice movement centering on underrepresented communities and focusing on education, equity, and activism.

  • The mission of Zero Hour is to center the voices of diverse youth in the conversation around climate and environmental justice. Zero Hour is a youth-led organization creating entry points, training, and resources for new young activists and organizers wanting to take concrete action around climate change. We are a movement that is organizing to protect our rights and access to natural resources and a clean, safe, and healthy environment that will ensure a livable future. We believe when historically underrepresented communities who are impacted the most by environmental injustices and are also leading the way in creating solutions, are included in environmental decision-making, movements, and educational systems, environmentalism will be brighter, more equitable, and more revolutionary for all.
